Soothe Winter Skin - Bath Bomb Recipe

Winter can be the most challenging season for our largest organ - our skin. Our skin protects everything inside our body; so keeping it healthy and well nourished is vital to our well-being. Getting to the spa for treatments is fabulous, but a simple bath with handmade bath bombs, packed full of fabulous fizz and moisturizing oils, will leave you feeling soft, soothed and sensational. Good, clean fun for the whole the family, Bath Bombs are a creative winter activity, and they also make thoughtful gifts!

Bath Bomb Recipe
1-cup baking soda
½ cup citric acid
2-½ tbspn oil (coconut oil or shea butter melted are super restorative)
½ tbspn carrier oil (grapeseed, avocado & jojoba are our favorites)
¼ tsp vitamin E oil or 1 large capsule
Spray bottle with Witch Hazel
15-20 drops of essential oil / fragrance
Natural colors
You can use a mold - ice trays or soap molds work well - or simply shape using ice cream scoop or your hands.

Instructions For Making Bath Bombs:
Step One: Mix baking soda and citric acid together. Add dry coloring.
Step Two: Add oils (do not stir). Add fragrance to oils before mixing all ingredients together. Spritz with Witch Hazel while stirring until mixture starts to clump (you do not want mixture to get too wet).
Step Three: Put mixture into molds. Let them sit a few minutes before tapping them out. Allow bath bombs 3-4 hours to air dry. Store in airtight containers (we keep ours in a glass canister which looks gorgeous in the kids bathroom).

Get creative, try adding Epson salts or dead sea salt to help relieve tired, sore muscles - great after a day on the slopes or in the yoga studio. Ingredients can be purchased from your local grocery store, or get a Bath Bomb Kit from www.eonorganics.com
